Description
The Austrian black pine (Pinus nigra nigra) originates from Austria and southern Europe and belongs to the genus of pines (Pinus). The tree can reach a total height of up to 50 metres and live up to 750 years. Pinus nigra nigra is an extremely hardy tree that has no problems even with severe frost and great heat. The black pine is particularly popular with bonsai enthusiasts, as it can be used to create beautiful small trees due to its gnarled growth form, which increases with age. In fact, black pine bonsais are among the most beautiful, but unfortunately also the most expensive bonsai of all.
