Description
The fig tree originates from the Mediterranean region and can reach heights of up to 10 metres there. In Central and Northern Europe, the trees rarely grow taller than 5 metres. Ficus Carica is of course mainly known for its edible fruits, the figs. These can already develop on very young trees. The tree loves warmth and should not be exposed to frost. Young plants are offered here at the age of 2 years. The fig tree is also often cultivated as a bonsai, as it already has very gnarled and relatively thick branches when young.
