Description

The olive tree (Olea Europaea) can reach a height of 10-20 metres and an age of up to 4000 years. Most of the plants offered in Europe come from the Mediterranean region, for example from Greece, Italy and Spain.

The fruits of the plant (olives) are edible and are often used in salads. However, 90% of the fruits are processed into olive oil.

It can take up to 7 years for the tree to develop the first olives. The tree prefers a warm climate, but can also be kept as an indoor plant in Central and Northern Europe.

Olive trees are particularly popular as bonsais, which are offered in various sizes up to 5 metres high and are sometimes already several hundred years old.
