Description
Scots pine (Pinus Sylvestris) belongs to the genus of pines and is one of the most common pine species in Europe. It is native to the whole of Europe, from the north of Scandinavia to the south of Spain. The wood of Scots pine is often used in the construction industry, and Scots pine is therefore considered one of the most important sources of raw materials. Pinus Sylvestris can reach a total height of up to 50 meters, a trunk diameter of up to 1 meter, and an age of up to 600 years. Scots pine is considered extremely robust, thrives in almost all natural soils and is considered insensitive to frost, heat and drought. Pinus Sylvestris is also popular in bonsai design.
